pumpfinder Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 A little background information first: I had a T1000-1bd for the past few months and it ended up popping something internally, the amp would not power up (I did massive amounts of troubleshooting) thus leaving me powerless for my Fi's. I got the full money paid for the amp back (not including shipping) so it is going towards my new power source which I think will be the VIBE Audio Black Death Bass1. I'll post the specs first and fill you guys in a little more on what I have heard about it. Specification Class: GH RMS Power @ 13.8v DC Power @ 4 Ohms: 750 WRMS Power @ 2 Ohms: 1400 WRMS Power @ 1 Ohms: 2500 WRMS Max: 5000 watts Minimum speaker impedance: 1 Ohms THD Distortion: 0.01% IMD Distortion: 0.01% Frequency Response (+/- 1dB): 22Hz - 185 Hz Input Sensitivity: 0.2 V - 5V Input Impedance: 17K Signal to Noise Ratio: 103 dB Channel Separation: N/A Crossover Network Low pass filter: 40 Hz – 250Hz Bass Boost: 0 dB - +15 dB Bass boost Freq: 30 Hz – 125Hz Subsonic Freq: 16 Hz – 60Hz Size: (height x width x depth) 70mm x 520mm x 224 mm Now that you got some specifications to read I'll do my best to give some additional information. The "GH" class, from what I know, was originally Arc Audio's technology and VIBE bought the engineering/engineering rights and used this in there amps. It apparently gives the efficiency of a class D amp with the sound quality of an A/B. I have a VIBE Audio LiteBox Stereo 4 which is an amazing amp. I have had nothing but great performance from it and it too is using Arc Audio's GH technology. In fact, when compared to the Arc's "Mini", it is a clone. Now I haven't seen the inside of the Black Death but a part of me believes that the same should apply if it is using the same technology. The Black Death is CEA-2006 compliant which means it will meet its rated power specifications, though I am not sure if it will do it with under 1% THD. I highly doubt it, but I don't mind if it is just over. The amp is stable to .5 ohms but I will stick to the 1 ohm. Wouldn't want to go anywhere below that anyways, but thats just me. The cooling on these amps are apparently great, the heat sinks work well in mostly all environments and it's GH technology will get the amp warm (like any) but not very much. I should also mention that this is not the Vibe Audio branched from Lanzar, It is a UK company. I am looking for some opinions on this amp. Does it seem like a good amp to you? Have you ever heard one? If you have any experience at all please comment.
