ainawi
i need to get confirmation about the info. that i am about to share about slot port length when bended 90 degree. my usual practice in case of bended slot port was to measure the port length along the center line, in other words if the sub specs said that i need 14" of port length & i had to bend it to fit, i use to consider center line of 14" for the bended port & then construct it ... is this correct ? i am asking this coz recently i have read somewhere that for above case i have to add 1/2 of the port height to the total port length.. can anybody confirm this, your assistance will be much appreciated.. thanks
MrSkippyJ
I'm no port expert, but I think what you are referring too is effective port length, which applies to ports that share a wall with a wall of the enclosure. It's usually 1/2 of the width, to part of the port that shares the enclosure wall. You are correct that you measure down the center line to for port length.
