Bigsix
Heres the condensed uncluttered UBL version of my little build. Here's what I'm working with, my daily driver work beater, 2000 Jeep Cherokee, picked it up piss cheap with a blown motor last fall, dropped in a low mileage boneyard motor and its been runnin lke a champ since... Had an Atomic Manhattan series 15 in a crummy prefab, powered by the AUDIOPIPE apsm1300 mini back here since I got it running.. I cooked the Atomic, and after being a member here for quite some time, I decided to step it up a bit and get a little louder, so I started to gather up some gear as I found it here and there: SSA Xcon 18, D1's Hifonics BRZ1700.1 Brutus Audiobahn AT200.2, had this from back in the day... American Bass 0ga, wiring kit, along with some extra Rockford 0ga... Kinetik HC2400 Along with this stuff I gathered up some spray foam, screws, misc eyelets, electrical tape, nachos, some cheap booze, and other misc junk needed to complete the build, like an Ifinity reference 2 way comp set, a scorpion digi volt meter.... 1999 Lincoln Town Car-(build underway) - (2) SA15s, 4th order, DAT 2500.1, O2 mids n highs, 250a alt, HC 2400, Big 3.... 1994 Pontiac T/A for speeding tickets.- - Currently on jack stands, wanting to be a real race car "Your local forecast, all the ladies in the metro area should expect to see 8 inches tonight" - The Todd Decaf, on 01 November 2011 - 02:38 PM, said: i provide the ammo for destruction, the trigger finger is connected to the volume knob tho URBAN GORILLA AUDIO
Bigsix
So I decided to get to work... First up was to throw the red top Optima I had laying around in the Jeep, that was quick n Easy..Didnt even take pics, next up was to gut all the old Scoshe 6 and 4ga wiring and get the new stuff from American Bass in...again fairly straightforward there too, 1 run + and - from up front, under the carpet to the Right rear corner of the Jeep. Next order of business was to find a new home for the Kinetik... So after so measuring and guessing I got to it... Decided where... Gettin shit outta the way: Messy fun time and a quick test fit before sparks fly... Quick little bracket made up to hold kinetik in place, just some angle iron welded up and welded into the jeep, filled the space below it with some magic foam... All done, nice and simple, and well out of the way...
Bigsix
Next up, it was time to figure out what to do with the amps, So..... I made a little panel out of 1/4 inch MDF and attached it to the back of the rear seat and voila....quick and simple amp rack... I scored an Ifinity comp set off of Craigslist, so I decided insstead of just mounting them up in the doors, some fiberglass pods were in order... And on my wedding anniversary I somehow found enough time to get the pods finished and assembled and wired up...
Bigsix
Once the pod were all set, I yanked the door panels and got them mounted up and the wires for 'em ran, ta-da!! Once that was all done I started getting all the wiring for the amps and the Kinetik squared up... Decided to amke my own little distribution bar for the the wires in and out of the Kinetik: Everything is coming together nicely at this point 1999 Lincoln Town Car-(build underway) - (2) SA15s, 4th order, DAT 2500.1, O2 mids n highs, 250a alt, HC 2400, Big 3....

Bigsix
After 2 weeks of no bump-age I was going out of my mind, so my son and I threw a quicky camo paint job on the old crap box my Xcon came in....yuck.. gotta love crappy ports and particle board... This was only temporary..and Im glad it was...looked bad sounded worse...after a week of that, it was time for the new box... got together with a member on here and came up with 7.5 cubes, tuned at 30, after all displacements.... Bought MDF, some misc supplies and went to work on the new enclosure: Premade concrete form to cut slices out of to glass into nice rounded corners Test fitting the bottom board: 1999 Lincoln Town Car-(build underway) - (2) SA15s, 4th order, DAT 2500.1, O2 mids n highs, 250a alt, HC 2400, Big 3....
Bigsix
Box is looking great and first finish we tried was rattlecan bedliner it worked, but was kinda shitty looking IMO... It was to terrible looking, but it soaked in terribly into the routered edges and made it look all rough and, well, shitty.. My dude G-unit layin out primer on the box cause he likes paint fumes a bit to much..
Bigsix
So after a few days of driving around with a kinda ugly box, that brings me to this weekend, I tore the box out, and decided it needed to be refinished big time... Gotta love making a mess outta shit you just out together right? I heard some other members have had better luck with a roll on style bedliner... So I picked up a quart of roll on Herculiner at Autozone and decided to give it a try, the results this time around were much better: 1999 Lincoln Town Car-(build underway) - (2) SA15s, 4th order, DAT 2500.1, O2 mids n highs, 250a alt, HC 2400, Big 3....
Bigsix
While the box was out and apart, I decided it was a good idea to use some bolts for my speaker wiring, that way I can change it around without having to pull the box out and remove the woofer.... Hooray for smartness... threw some eyelets onto my speaker wires And wired it back up...woot.
Bigsix
Since I got started on this build, me and my buddies have been joking referring to the Jeep as the "Urban Gorilla" and it has started to stick... So this morning I decided I wanted to try my hand at some simple wrapping of a couple interior pieces...and I decided any proper gorilla has a little bit of fur right? lol Rockin the silver back fur like a boss 1999 Lincoln Town Car-(build underway) - (2) SA15s, 4th order, DAT 2500.1, O2 mids n highs, 250a alt, HC 2400, Big 3....
