curtdakota Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 ok some of you may know that i was gonna switch from my BTL 18 to 4 10's (or you probably dont know) but, i decided im gonna save my money, and build a different box and get a better amp for the BTL and see what i can really do with it, basically the only difference on this box design to my current on is my current one is using a slot port, and im switching to aeros with this new box. and by switching to aeros im saving just enough space to cut down the height of the box to stay under the back window line. this is going in a 2005 extended cab dodge dakota by the way. now my question is would this be enough port area? http://i560.photobucket.com/albums/ss47/curtis96olds/BTL18box.jpg

curtdakota Posted November 19, 2011 Author Report Posted November 19, 2011 i think you are a bit low, should be 14 to 16 foot per cub, you also have some other issues, woofer displacement and bracing will be more than .1 each, and common port walls should be 3 port walls will be zero because there aeros, woofer displacement i was just guessing on, but it will be between .1 and .2 so its not a huge difference anyway, and bracing wont be more than .1 because i wil be using threaded rod which will take up probably less than .1

curtdakota Posted November 20, 2011 Author Report Posted November 20, 2011 how much power is gunna go on it? thats the thing, im not sure on what amp im gonna run on it yet, possibly a AQ2200D, or a sundown saz2500 or if i can find a used saz3000, or i might decide to step up to a AQ3500D so lets say 2200-3500 watts lol, i know thats a broad range of power, but i just honestly dont know what amp i want to run yet.
