hey im about to start a build soon with a 15" dc level 4xl in a 4cuft box tuned to 32 hz, and i was wondering if it made a difference where i cut out the hole for the sub. the instructions im following tells me to cut it next to the port but i want it to sit facing up and the port shooting towards the rear. I don't know if this will screw up any of the tuning or what it will do so please help me out bros!I will be installing it in a 2004 jeep grand Cherokee if that helps.

It will most likely have a better tone (deeper) in an SUV with the sub up/port back.

You can put put the woofer either way.

Most people will swear sub up, port rear is best. I tested both in my suburban - port and sub rear was the loudest.

Current system:

1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s

Previous systems:

2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz.

1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.
