billy101 Posted November 21, 2011 Report Posted November 21, 2011 Hey guys I've got an Eclipse 3322 2channel Amplifier I've been using in my Impala for about a year now. It's had this problem since I got it (was given to me for free). I have it mounted right behind my seats on the trunk floor on a 3/4" sheet of MDF. Whenever it's on it's got a high pitch whine, not really a whine though, just a high pitch noise. Louder when the engine is running. Thing is though, I can smack the amplifier on the top of the casing, and it will go away for a day or two, and then eventually return. If I tap the crap out of the case I can usually make the noise come and go on command. It's really strange, and doesn't seem to affect the functionality/performance of the amp. I have the amplifier opened up right now and I cannot seem to find anything wrong with it, or what would look abnormal to me. I don't really know much about amps but I know that it is annoying, and it's pretty damn loud. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance. First System 2002 Impala LS 3.8L V6, 128,365k miles.
