So i need a more detailed explanation on the options available for the SSD's. Questions: What's the difference between Dual 1 and Dual 2? What does the internal lead option do? Also i'm not new to car audio just have not dealt with this much power. What all will i have to upgrade in my car to get the best results? SoCaLBaMF Posted November 21, 2011 Report Share Posted November 21, 2011 If youre not new to car audio, I would think you would know what dual 1 ohm and 2 ohm mean. But Dual 1 ohm (actually .7 ohm) and dual 2 ohm (actually 1.4 ohm) coils are just different resistances to wire up the sub to get a final load to the amp. Higher resistance usually equals lower power, unless you have a Rockford Fosgate CP amp. I would suggest, depending on how much power youre going to put to them getting the flatwound coil which isss.. Flatwind coil: The flatwire coil option simply helps the power handling of the sub. The coil has more surface area to dissipate heat and will take more power then the regular round wire coil that comes in the ‘stock’ version of the sub. This option will also make the sub tend to be more prone to ‘peaking’ for a budget daily driving sub where you don’t have to use a ton of power to get maximum output and sacrifice sound quality a little bit. and the Cooling option. Internal lead which seems to be a new option is Im guessing the tinsel leads are sandwiched in between the spiders to reduce tinsel slap on the lower notes. Unless its something different. But like i said im not new but i dont know as much as i should lol. So which ohm load should i use and how would i wire them to achieve that?
