I don't think the fight was fixed but I definitely see a 3rd rematch in the future. And the "big guys" in boxing aren't stupid, they're not gonna let a boxer die just cuz he asks to keep fighting, because then the boxer's (Margarito's in this case) family will have a lawsuit on them faster than Usain Bolt.
