SKY HIGH DC MONSTER GMC SHORT VID LINKED TO FLEXING SHOP WALL

Recommended Posts

Yeah I've been looking into the 1500 extended cabs with the 5.3L short box 4x4. Need to get rid of my malibu so I can have a fun vehicle that I can actually climb into and work on and be able to drive in the snow. The only reason I hold onto the thought of getting a Colorado is the length/width/nimble-ness of it in comparison to a full size.

i agree with the snow lol god do i love my truck when there is 3-4 ft of snow on the ground lol its a beast

have you driven the newer like 03+ 1500s? those bitches drive nice as hell...well everything is smooth compared to my truck its just too big cant turn cause of my tires so i guess a 1500 feels like a chevy cruze to me. but if you havent driven one i would suggest doing so before making a decision they are really nice

Yeah I figured when the funds get better I would test drive one. My dad has a 2007 2500 crew cab HD classic with the Duramax and Allison tranny in it and he loves it but I'm looking at the new body 07-09. Going to aim for one without the Bose since it will all come out anyways lol.gif. Part of looking into the 5.3 in a full size is because the Colorado with the 5.3 gets the same gas mileage and you have to get a custom alt for the I5's and it's a bitch to change out. Only other fear I have is that it sounds like the 5.3's have been having a problem straight up EATING oil. As much 2 quarts per 3000 miles trippy.gif.

Damn thats a lot of oil lol that cant be good lol but the 5.3s do have mean ass alt kits available haha ya fuck the bose lol waist of money if youre on this site haha

One thing I want to point out to another fellow Sierra owner, and it is just a heads up, but with those door pods like that u will want to check your glove box clearance, as I can't open my glove box but like 2 inches if the passenger door is closed.

i never thought of that with these pods lol well too late now haha im sure it wont open. my old pods would let it open but these ones i do not see it happening lol im not too worries about it honestly nothing important will be in there lol

pretty sure i read in there some where that you already purchase 6 XL's?? but if not ill have my 12 for sale, 9 of them have the carbonfiber caps all D1.4ohm...

i clamped around 1k per sub in my set up lol the coils havent ever seen hotter than 95deg they can take a ton of power :drinks:

looking good mane!

by the way your the man i can only hope for numbers like that sitting 2 people lol kinda gay when compared to yours!!

ive watched your build and loved the shit out of it....sorry to see the truck for sale a while ago! idk whats going on with that now but i hope all is well

yes i already have the new xls coming when the shipment gets here (hopefully ill be ready for them!!!)

i still think its crazy to be that loud ojn the power you gave them lol and 150 at 20 hz...god that had to hurt lol i could play 150 at 30 and it hurt lol im jealous!! but with my build ill never be able to play down there lol just not enough room in my truck to make it work like that lol not with 6 15s...much less 12 haha

again i cant say enough now impressive your build and results are lol

Great work! I can't wait to see this done. I loved your last build. Are you keeping the sponge trick idea for the finish? Haha.

haha i guess i did make an impression with the sponge paint but no i wont be doing that again. it will all get sanded down (the controls for all the windows and the dash bezel) and painted black. then the stock console is getting thrown in the trash (getting rid of the majority of the sponge paint) and im building my own and painting it black also and possibly some air brushing i hvent made my mind up yet to be honest

the sponge paint is a real attention getter but for something i drive every day its just a lot to take in so im going a cleaner less out there look

God them in and the door panels back on (no controls on them yet because i have to sand and paint them still)

36Doorpodsinfront.jpg

Still havent got put the other door pod on or try them out to see how they sound because the box isnt in yet to mount the amp to so i dont want to waist my time putting the amp in (even hooking the rca to 3.5 mm jack to the amp) /

I am ready to see how these sound off the 175.4..i guess that just means i need to get my ass in gear and get this box built huh? :peepwall:
