omegagamer2 Posted December 7, 2011 Report Posted December 7, 2011 Seriously I'm still confused at this stuff. I looked at the ol' oscilloscope in WMP and was shocked at how much clipping and distorting their is in half my music. How do i know my limit for turning it up? For lots of my songs, the bass isn't clipped, but every single kick is. Then there are songs that have distorted kicks or distorted basslines. I think it was always wonderbread telling me that it's okay to play clipped stuff as long as it isn't Swang my Door level clipping.
CaptainPooPyPantz Posted December 7, 2011 Report Posted December 7, 2011 i was wondering the same thing , let say you buy a dd-1 set everything up nice and neat no distortion and play a distorted song , then what ? ... just asking , cuz i really don't know Headunit - Pioneer AVH-P4250 DVD 4 - infinity reference 6.5 a pair of infinity reference tweeters 1 - AudioQue AQ-120.4 amplifier for mids & highs 1 - AudioQue AQ-2200D Monoblock 1 - AudioQue HDC315 KitAudio kerf ported Enclosure 4 - Stinger pro series signal wires 20ft Stinger 1/0Ga power & Ground wires Big Three Upgrade 1 - Kinetik HC1800 (Not Here yet . .Still Saving up for one)
98GCLimited Posted December 7, 2011 Report Posted December 7, 2011 Yea I realized this recently when dling Audacity and messing with it a bit. Alot of my favorite songs that are best for "bumping" are clipped. Makes me sad to see how much of the stuff we listen to is clipped to hell.
cf2004 Posted December 7, 2011 Report Posted December 7, 2011 say fuck it and just keep riden dirty....
dyablo409 Posted December 7, 2011 Report Posted December 7, 2011 By what i have read here its not as bad to have a clipped song than a clipped signal so im guessing that its fine unless it isnt swing my door level clipped
EclipseChris Posted December 7, 2011 Report Posted December 7, 2011 If you have music you know is clipped to hell, just don't blare it. Playing it at regular listening level isn't a big deal. i resolve to be a nicer moderator. Tercel build R.I.P. Eclipse build Old New V-Dub My feedback.
georgiaspl Posted December 7, 2011 Report Posted December 7, 2011 Can clipping be in songs bought through iTunes?
eltortuga94 Posted December 7, 2011 Report Posted December 7, 2011 Can clipping be in songs bought through iTunes? Definitely unless it's ALAC (Apple Lossless) but I don't think iTunes does that, the highest bit rate I've seen when bought through iTunes was 256kbps but I could be wrong. System: Basically Stock In process of upgrading

FroznBeavrBALLs Posted December 7, 2011 Report Posted December 7, 2011 every song is gonna have SOME clipping in it. You set everything up with a DD-1 or Oscope to have no distortion so that the unclipped signals dont clip anyways from bad settings. 2 DC 12" lvl 4s 1 DC 1.2k XS Power S3400 big 3 Alll KNU wire Pioneer HU cheapo Legacy coaxes (just for now) http://www.stevemead...n-sentra-build/
