byron2817
well if i build the port 4"height the subs is not going to fit because the box is only 14"height outside dimensions. and subs is 8 1/2 mounting depth so is going to rub on the port Quote NEED TO GET LOUDER!!! Sinosic
was your current box designed right? 4 4" port seems like alot. if you just threw some pvc in and didnt design right, your sub prob sounds bad, like its in free air. Decaf
well thats ~400-600 over rms, depending on how much that amp really pushes. whats the length on those ports in the box you have now and the volume. each port in would have to be almost 18 inches long to achieve a tune of 37 in 4.75cuft box and that is plenty of surface area. the smaller the box the longer the ports need to be so if your current setup is lets say 4cuft, the 4 ports would need to be 20 inches in length... does this help with why it might not sound "good" woops didnt see 5cubes... whats the tune frequency currently and length of ports now so the ports would have to be 17" in length each to be 37-38hz fb Edited November 21, 2007 by decafcappucino

Decaf
you enclosure is tuned somewhere around 42hz if its 5cuft net volume, drop it down to 35 and your peak drops from 54ish, to 44ish, big difference on the low end, and your rolloff isnt so steep, songs like jeezy and gorilla zoe will sound alot better. does the l7 sound sloppy, weak high end bass, almost no low bass.... a little more info goes a long ways take a vid!!
