padrino Posted December 19, 2011 Report Posted December 19, 2011 This subs are great,but one thing before you buy them. expect to upgrade your electrical ,you need at least 280-320 amps @ idle to fully power them. alot of people will say save you money and buy something else. most people rate this subs low or average bcuz they dont have the juice to power them. i spend 1,320$ just on my electrical, 2) mechmans 270,1/0 solidcopper welding cable,dual alt bracket and the soldering. If I had a 270 amp alt and another XS d3400 it would be fine up to 4000w+. I'm running 2500w on a stock 150 amp alt and a d3400 and it's going strong as long as I lay off at idle Quote
mr151 Posted December 19, 2011 Report Posted December 19, 2011 I am running two hcca 12.4 subs with two hcca2400d amps strapped together running at .5 ohms before rise and a 220 amp alt. with a single run of 1/0 gauge. I have not had any problems and the pound and sound clean. Quote

So this is what powers a sub? the amp powers the sub.but your stock alt wont power the amp for these speakers Quote
