Im thinking of going active with my set of http://www.woofersetc.com/p-6201-ctx65cs-image-dynamics-65-component-speaker-system.aspx andi will be using a MB quest dsc4125, which does 125x4 at 4 ohms

now the problem is i know the mids can handle the 125 watts each, but how will the tweeters handle it? can i just turn down the gain on the tweets to not send full power?

and what frequency should i high pass my tweets?

and what frequesncy should i low pass my mids?

i know its usually 5000hz or so for mids but i wanted to get your guys input as i have never ran active before.

It looks like that whole component set (woofer, tweeter, AND crossover) takes 100 watts rms. If you go active with this, you will need to know the response curves of the OE woofer and tweeter so that you can select appropriate high pass and low pass crossover points for the tweeter and woofer.

To go three way, you'd simply use two of the mb quart's channels for midrange and the other two for tweeters. I don't know if your amp has defeatable crossovers, but you should defeat them if possible to keep from having two different crossovers in your system. If you can't defeat the crossovers, then you should probably find another amp if you have to run active.

That said, it would be easy as hell to run this amp with the supplied crossovers and it would likely sound pretty good.

I think 4 of those tweeters would be fine on two channels of that amp at a reasonable gain and listening level and crossover point. Same for the mids.

Two questions; why do you want to go active? and What crossover are you going to use?
