TheNewbie
So i hooked up the amp, a MRP-1000 Alpine. Powering a level 3 DC audio sub. I hooked it up and the amp turns on, but won't power the sub, nor a small speaker i put to it. I have checked the settings on the deck, it's not that. I took all the wires up and then put them over the carpet to make sure nothing was grounding out. Still no output. Any ideas? It's small 16 gauge wire. Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks If i need to answer any other questions just lemme know. Quote Check out my build log: http://www.stevemead...60#entry1958353 Different folks have different strokes. Turn it up
have you check the rca's?
TheNewbie
Yes sir, it has power. I've checked the fuses. There all fine. I have seen the light go from dim to bright. Like it doesn't have the same amount of constant power going to it. Quote Check out my build log: http://www.stevemead...60#entry1958353 Different folks have different strokes. Ram1989custom
is the amp turning on? Read the beginning of his second sentence. Edit: My bad, the third sentence. @OP, possibly the RCA inputs on the amp or the outputs on the head unit. I would try hooking the RCAs to one of the component RCA outputs on the head unit and seeing if you can get any response on a speaker. TheNewbie
have you check the rca's? RCAs are brand new. I mean it's a possibility. I would try them on another system but being in a small town.. i don't know many that have a system in there car. Bakerman
This may sound stupid, but are your gains turned up? I always turn my gains down before an install, and there have been several times that I hook up a speaker to make sure its working, get no sound, and get frustrated just to realize that I forgot that my gains were all the way down. Haha, nah man i've been playing on it for a couple weeks. Then it cut out. I reinstalled it it played again. Now it's oding it again, just really not sure i think it's a wire grounding but from the sounds of it everyone thinks it's the rca's.
