Brenner Anderson Posted December 28, 2011 Report Posted December 28, 2011 So I just bought a kicker l7 15" sub and its the DVC 2 ohm version. I have a brutus 2000 watt hifonics amp (25th anniversary edition). I'm not sure if wiring the l7 at 1 ohm is too much? Because wired at 1 ohm it says is 2000 watts rms which is way too much. But wired at 4 ohm is only 650 watts rms which would be under powering it. What should I do? Thanks to all who reply
notorious97200 Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 650 or 1000 w you won't hear the difference in output. Only a TL meter will. And 4 Ohm is very good ! But you can also go with the 1 Ohm wiring and turn down the gain on the amp. Don't give this sub too much power though. Personnally, I'd go with the 4 Ohms wiring. black BMW X1 2.0 l 192 hp OEM head unit, Amplifiers : Audison AP 8.9 with integrated DSP and Ampere Audio 1200.
