big dee
That doesn't look like mdf to me. I wasent knocking your build bro but that looks like particial board not mdf. Cause mdf is not made with flakes of wood. Mdf is a realy fine saw dust like material. Particial board will not handle sound pressure like mdf will. But it is cheaper but there's is a reason its cheaper than mdf. But from what I see in the pics you got your self a particial board box mot mdf. Its hard to realy tell the thickness from the picks but it don't look like 3/4 but more like 5/8 maybe Edited December 31, 2011 by big dee
big dee
dont count out particle board so easy. i ben pounding the hell out of that stuff off 12 subs and it hasnt given me any problems at all. as long as its braced and build right it should hold up just fine to use particle board instead of mdf. why add more weight and material so you can use it? Don't make sence to me unless you just got it for free or already have particial board. Go to jlaudio web site and see what they say about using it.
