I need some help with what sub or subs to buy for my next install...

I will have around 3 cubes to work with.

1200 watts

I currently have 2 12" JL W3's and they are ok in a 3.5 box but I feel the DC will outperform them.

I wanted to get some space back in my trunk....and 3.5 is just a bit to large for my liking.

Figure max of 3 cubes would give me just a little back.

Lastly I listen to lower bass music such as Dj Magic Mike / Young Jeezy / Bass Mekanik etc etc

So here is the question...

2 10's

1 12

I was thinking with 1200 watts (Rockford Power series) that I can do a 12" DC lvl 4.

But then I thought maybe 2 10's?

Also, they are going into a 2008 Civic SI coupe.

This will be a daily driver.

I currently have the big 3 done with KnuKonceptz 1/0 full copper wiring.

1/0 also going to a distro, then 4gauge to the amps.

Optima Yellow top in stock location.

Alpine CDA9997 in dash.

What do you guys recommend? I really want a good balance of feeling the music and it getting loud.

I would at least like to beat out the subs I have now....

I have done some google searches, youtube, and even emailed DC. They even recommened maybe a 15, but I do not think I have the clearance for that.

Really looking for ideas here.....and even maybe someone with a car similar and what they did.

And keep the videos coming DC!! The Thorhammer videos are killer!

i have almost the exact setup as you, but i have a xs d3400 as a rear batt.

anyway i have a 12' dc level 4 on a dc 1.2k with the box tuned to 34 hz and i frickin love it! i hit a 141.0 db if i remember correctly, so i would recommend just going with a 12' level 4 with a well built box

heres a pic if you dont believe me

Legal TL scores145.6 on the dash sealed up in the low 40hz area with the port out145.5 on the dash sealed up @30hz with the port inless then 1k clamped on a 3.5k!

Why would you EVER WANT flex?
huh?...flex is what can make the lows lower and more air being pushed correct?
