jview Posted January 3, 2012 Author Report Posted January 3, 2012 Most amps aren't set-up to run single as your thinking they are but rather 1&2 are left and right front and 3&4 are left and right rear so the best you can do is set per front or rear. You can run front @4ohm or @8ohm but you cant run left and right with different ohm loads as they'll need to be the same, so if you want to you can run 4ohm front and 8ohm rears with no problems but the fronts will overpower the rears cause of the lower ohm load. I agree with everything you say but the very last part. Its kind of dependent on his speakers and their efficiency isnt it? Myself for example i have my front doors (2 selenium 6s in each door) running at 4ohm and my doors (1 8 per door) running at 8 ohm each. The rear was a tiny bit louder than the front but not very noticeable. What type of 8s are you using? Quote
Guest Posted January 3, 2012 Report Posted January 3, 2012 having the front and rear channels on different ohm loads wont hurt it. just dont do like 4 ohms on the left front channel and 2 ohms on the right front channel. thats a huge no-no. Quote
AA98hoe Posted January 3, 2012 Report Posted January 3, 2012 You will be fine...sundown should have different gains for 1-2 and 3-4 channels and xovers. Just set gains so fronts sound a lil louder .I like soundstage coming from front.. 8s should be midbass and set lower Quote TEAM DC AUDIO VEHICLE:98 chevy tahoe 2wd 3-4 drop HEADUNIT:alpine 9886 PREAMP:arcaudio FRONT STAGE:4-6 1/2s selinium,DD component set and 4-selinium tweeters in each door KICKPANELS:jl audio 5 1/4 REAR DOORS: dd components 6 1/2s HIGHS AMPS:zapco 750.2 on front doors, zapco an another 750.2 on kicks and rear doors SUBS:4-ascendant audio 18s with 5 spiders in a custom box built by KINGSUV SUB AMP: 2-dc7.5s ALTERNATORS: 3-mechmans 1- 425comp, 1-smd spec350, 1-270 with adj voltage harness on custom dc bracket WIRE:10-runs 0g front to back BATTERIES:6-d1400s TL results:157.1 at 38hz and 156.8 at headrest score @37hz.
