Jeffrey Zemba
I know this post is old, but for the record, gentlemen, the colossus is one ohm stereo stable , 2 ohm stable mono. Meaning you cannot bridge it at 1 ohm. Bridge it at 2 and you shouldn't have the protect issue. Also, that amp sucks some juice 300+ amperage draw. Totally need upgraded although as well as buffer batteries ( battery bank) and 0 gauge wiring..I use audiotechnix wire-true copper..not copper coated aluminum ...I hope I've helped you out some..if you still are running that beast. I know there are nastier amps out there, but I bleed the hifonics colossus. Ill stand firm behind it always... especially the xxv series. WWW.YouTube.com/thehydrachronic check out what the colossus can do ....just realized you've rectified the issue ... I'm using an android phone so bear w me plz lol. I didn't wanna delete it all Cuz I believe it is still a helpful summary of everything told in this thread... thank you gentlemen. Have a blessed day.
