Ladybridgeport
I had a 1985 AMC Eagle with 2 Lanzar LP15 15" subwoofers in a custom sealed MDF box lined with fiberglass ceiling tiles. It was the most cleanest sounding box. The midbass was 2 Lanzar DC8 8" subwoofers. My 15" were set to crossover points HP 30, LP 80 and midbass 120-300Hz with parametric at 120Hz. I had a 14 channel kenwood crossover and a kenwood eq. When I set the eq to 120 hz and set the pain to +12 dB I got all frequencies from 20 and lower and high 80 hz played beautiful. Since Lanzar isn't what it use to be, is there a comparable subwoofer to it? The thing was so musical. I have JL Audio 13W7 and it doesn't play well in a sealed box above 55 Hz. So any power woofer won't work. I need more of a musical woofer. Anyone know of good quality musical subs that play variable bass frequencies or bass cds really good? Socky
Well your door speakers should help anything after like 75hz or so, have you tryed a bandpass box to have a better bandwidth in music? AmericanLegend
Maaan, I remember the LP15s. Brantley Waites and Martin Taylor used them to set world records for SPL back when Mark Fukuda had that yellow blazer with the 8 18s. Since the rise of the ported box, however, less and less people know how accurate and tight a low Q sealed box can make their subwoofers sound. My vote is for the Pioneer TS 5102 SPL. When I playe night bass with my LP15s, my Eagles mirrors shook and I couldn't even hear the bass. My 4 JL Audio 13W7s each with sealed chambers doesn't do that, or at lease not for that long of a roll off.

I put 8-inch JL Audio ZR800-CW midbass drivers in my camaros doors and it was all insulated. I have a major dip in midbass so doors are horrible to put speakers in. On my camaro I may put everything in the floor.
