Rockford Amp Help

with 2 dual one ohm subs, you wont be able to see a 1 ohm load on a single amp.

On that amp since it has 2 inputs 'A' and 'B' and internally bridged, couldnt you wire both in series so it would be 2ohm to each input and would be 1ohm internally bridged, in theory?

Yes you can. Series both coils on each woofer to get a 2 ohm load, parallel each woofer to get a 1 ohm load.

Cheers,

Mick

Yes both of u are right. Series each woofer and run 1 woofer in its own channel @2ohm. The T4k even though it is known as a mono amp, it can be played as a 2 channel amp as well. Like Steve did when he had dual 1 ohm woofers and blew his amps. When he was waiting for repairs on 2 of his amps he ran the 2 subs per amp with the other 2 amps. He series'd each woofer (dual 1ohm) making each sub 2ohm and ran 1 sub per channel. In his case since he has dual 2ohm he would have to go with the T2ks to get his full power.

if you could switch your sbs for dual 1s i would do 1 T4k

if he gets the 2 dual 2 ohm then he can either run them at .5 2 or 8 ohm. .5 being too low, 2 being a waste and 8...hahaha why

the power series monoblock amps are "set up as 2 channel" amps but internally they are paralleled. so if you wire each sub to 1 ohm then wire one sub per "channel" it will parallel itself down to .5 ohm which can hurt the amp, subs, or set into protect.

get dual 1 ohm subs and wire them to 2 ohm per sub then 1 sub per "channel" and it will parallel itself to 1 ohm

so either switch subs to dual 1s or go with 2 T2ks and run 1 ohm per sub
