and time to add the relay!!

i used a 40A relay form radioshack. 8 guage power and ground with a 40A fuse on power of course. remote lead and out puts are connected. all 3 amps and 3 fans on the output so far with plans of more fans and LEDs to be added!!

relay installed right next to the stock relay!!

so far so good. what you see above is my whole electrical currently . not shown is alt obviously and most of my Big 5 or how ever many grounds count. ahha

before i get to the box build, i had these pics which i didnt share earlier. this is where i hid my crossovers for my front components

i also hid my front high/low converter in the kick floor too!!

PAC SNI-35 great choice in my opinion!! sounds very clean!! gives me 4 volts too at the amps!!

starting work in the evening!!

im using 11 ply birch to build the box!!

cardboard cutout to get feel for face of box. the only way to get a box big enough for 12s in this car is to slide in through rear seats. so i had to get creative on the shape for this box.

all pieces cut! time to start constructing!!

long story short, they all got filled and sanded down!

first hole cut! damn that is a sexy sub.

and it fits first time!!

it was a sruggle to get it in and out everytime. yea you can quote that. aaha

next up is to make this thing look purty.

got the router out and routed all edges with 3/8 round over bit. and used 1 inch flush mount bit to make sure all joints are perfectly flush with eachother.

after all the routing was finished, i had to make a flush mount baffle to make the front look good.

i first cut out same shape as front of box. i then marked outer diameter of subs and layed it out on board. i knew it was gunna be a tight fit. but like i said earlier, this is biggest box that can fit in my trunk and i couldnt sacrifice any port area. this had to be done like this!!

after a lot of routing using roundover bit and flush bit, a good old saw and some creativity, i arrived at this for my front flush baffle.

some of the edges were really thin so i took them out completely. this above looked good but botttom was still too thin. revise again.

now that looks good!!

thanks man!! yea these boxes are only for me too, everyone around me locally knows i do this so i have a little business. built around 30 boxes so far. nothing to this extent thought. this is my favorite by far.

i go through subs like shoes it seems, but i have a feeling these will stay for a while, i jsut never had what i truly wanted.

my whole build is done jsut getting around to posting pics.

and i kept the head unit because i like the stock look. when people look inside the whole interior looks stock. i love that. catches some off guard. in my opinion, the highs get pretty loud. plus the mercedes head unit auto detects distortion so it only turns it up to the loudest point where it outputs clean signal so if im clipping i know its at the amps. it gets pretty loud. plus i have 4 volts from my high lows so whats the point of switching out besides getting more interface options. i can wire everything up that i need to this headunit. i actually have another pair of RCAs in from that CD 2 mp3 device by soundgate that im still not using.
