Decaf
exactly so you cant fit two 8 gauge in that first + or the - on the way to amp -....... 12 gauge is more than sufficient youd need some type of connector to reduce the size of the wire
Decaf
4 ga?! as speaker wire? uh... thats gonna be a bitch to fit, and WAY overkill, its only 1000 watts and since you are using 2 12 gauge to go from to each positive that allows for 950w, as stated, 10 if you can fit it but 12 is used in almost all applications

Decaf
i like to use 2 12 gauge of equal length positive and two 12 gauge equal length negative, and twist the 2 positive into one, then into amp terminal and same for negative, it is the same as the rockford fosgate wiring diagram, 2ohm dvc to 1 ohm, if you are concerned about loss of power due to wire size, that would help alot.... and in your case of bl's, why not Edited November 30, 2007 by decafcappucino

littleitaly1990
i wouldn't do any less than 12ga and no bigger than 8 ga. I already got the 12 gauge speaker wire. Instead of splitting it up Im just going to combine the ends together...So it can carry the power of 2 12 gauge wires... Quote A vitrolic, megalomaniacal sadistic psychopath. littleitaly1990
Out of curiosity, would using one run of 14 gauge along with one run of the 12 work? I only ask because I already have a good amount of 14 gauge so it will save me a little. If I understand correctly, electricity follows the path of least resistance, so once the 12 gauge becomes over powered will it move over to the 14? I know this probably sounds confusing but I want to wire my subs today and don't think 15' of 12 will be enough. Quote A vitrolic, megalomaniacal sadistic psychopath.
