howelr Posted January 20, 2012 Report Posted January 20, 2012 my buddy gave me this amp because he had snapped the gain control. i was wondering if anyone had any idea if it would be fixable. the "pot" says b50k. is it doable? or just not worth the time. picture of the switch and some of the board http://www.mediafire.com/i/?ddag8sflhfhsw37
95legwagon Posted January 22, 2012 Report Posted January 22, 2012 how in the hell do you snap a gain knob? you COULD fix it but it'd be a pita. youd hafta desolder the original holes on the board and solder in the new one...... shouldnt be that hard just would need a QUALITY soldering "pencil" and a decent desoldering iron with a bulb on it. OH and a steady hand. would suck to hafta do it but i prolly would...not gunna lie lol edit: link http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062355&filterName=Type&filterValue=Potentiometers youd hafta check to see the pins on it are correct with the one you have and try to find one with a shorter shaft lol ebay has them also i think there real i was looking through that guys stuff he sells and it looks like he finds stuff at auctions and just sells it Yea, it looks like someone got the mids about a month ago....shit.
