dfarres
Can someone please help with the dimensions for a t-line box for the two options below??? Not sure which would work out better? Right now I have the 2 12's in a sealed box in the truck of a 93 Civic. It has a RF 150a2 running them but i also have a Sony 200 rms in the garage. Obviously I don't have a lot power but it sounds pretty good right now but I wanted to try something new. I've made lots of boxes in the past but calcs on this box are driving me nuts. I put the info on the speakers i have ... if i left anything out just let me know. thanks for any help in advance!!!! 10" Sony Sub (xs-L1030) Impedance 4 ohms Ideal Sealed Box Volume (cu.ft.) 0.7 Sensitivity 88 dB RMS Power Range (Watts) 32-120 Mount Depth (in) 5 Vas (cu. ft.) 1.97 Fs (Hz) 27.2 Qts 0.67 Qes 1.03 Qms 3.75 Xmax (in.) .16 Sd 53.7 sq.in. STEvil
not even a question, stick with the JL's. Not likely to fit in a t-line in your civic though, unless you get creative with some cardboard construction tubes (they're meant for cement forming) then some fiberglass.. Quote MickyMcD - "Capable of making some serious trouser flapping volumes at where's-my-testicles frequencies, the Servo-Drives used to be fairly jaw dropping..." Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through. Hammerdown... 1% no links to outside websites, business related FB/YT pages allowed. FroznBeavrBALLs
I would just do one of the JLs. Tlines are normally pretty big for even just 1 sub. 2 probably would not fin in your car. dfarres
Can't do 1 JL cause they are 8ohm. Anyone have any t-line box info for the 10"? I'll make it just to see if it sounds good. The area of the space is 35"x14"x24" that i have to work with.
cc_audio
I used to have one of those Sony's, I put it through hell. Tough little sub. do the JLs, and skip the T-line if you can't make it fit. There are other box designs that are more practical. Quote It's all gone! dfarres
Will this box work for the 10" Sub? The port is 54 sq.in. The box height is 14" I think the tuning will be about 33Hz Edited January 26, 2012 by dfarres
