FAT831BOY Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 so pretty much i need a new alternator asap, my stock alternator finally giving out after destroying it. i have been doing some research and their does not seem to be much options for a 99 honda civic/non vtec sedan. im in need of reliable alternator they can power up my system. setup: 4 12" kicker cvx 2 kicker zx1500.1 running @2ohm 4 optima yellowtops 2 runs of 0gauge the car of course has many other accessories such as monitors, 4 ch amp, 12 speakers for mids/highs. Also may switch out amps for a cresendo 5500bc class D to operate subs at 1ohm knowing i am very limited on options i have checked out a few places and the best one i have seem to find is a DC power 180 amp which idles at 130 and max at 180 @1800 rpm. https://www.dcpowerinc.com/fit/1999~Honda~Civic~1.6L-I4-D16/13649-180-hp.html let me know what you guys think.. any input appreciated.. if any of you know someone or have owned it yourself, or have owned another kind of alternator and will recommend it, shoot it at me.. im open to everything. just want reliability and POWER. o ya my budget for the alternator is around $500-$600. hopefully i can finally get some true power to my subs.

BeatBox Posted January 26, 2012 Report Posted January 26, 2012 its been runnin like a champ, i have whats in my sig and my voltage stays with in 13.5-14v at all times, no complaints other than installing it alittle more tim consuming than switching out the alt on my 00 jimmy. ordered the alt and received it all within 3days

I been looking for more info on ohio generators and cant find nothing for my vehicle or anything on the brand. I searched the web, checked ebay and amazon for the brand and nothing... How long ago did u purchase ur ohio generator? Looks like imm going have to jus call all these places?

BeatBox Posted January 26, 2012 Report Posted January 26, 2012 you have to call them, they mentioned that theres only a hand full of ppl with these got it will be a year when summer hits, only thing it does that some ppl hate it squeals when i start up the car for like 2 seconds BUT i dont care any other time it doesnt make any noise i have a size smaller on the belt aswell, the bottom need a few washers but other than that its all easy to install
