Got a little somethin somethin in from Sundown yesterday.

Notice an extra set of caps.. I'm going to attempt to paint it another color. Any tips on painting objects with that material?

They did however forget to send new push terminals so they'll have to wait a bit to be built

So this morning I woke up early to start working on these recones. I was on hold because I was waiting for new terminals. I thought I was getting the new 1 piece sundown terminals but ended up getting these..

Not only that, but I was a set short. O well, put new terminals on 1 sub and just reused the others.

Soldered on ring terminals to leads, and then heat shrunk them.

Made computer paper shims for each sub. 3 papers thick seemed tight enough for me.

Glued the first subs spider landing and surround landing. My Gf recently bought clothes pins so I decided to try them out. Went a little crazy with them lol.

Same thing for second sub. Then applied some weight to each sub with the paper shim still there to keep everything centered.

Course the curious cat had to get in on the action.

Now just thinking about what dust cap color I want to use and how I'm going to apply it.

Picked up a can of blue to try out on the extra Nightshade dust caps I have. Going to sand the cap a bit and then spray. Wish me luck!

One down, one to go. Just a light sand with a piece of worn out 80 grit.

Both done. Now I'm going to rinse with soap and water. Dry it out good, and then start spraying.

So I sprayed my first coat. I could still see little scratches from where I sanded.

Decided to re-sand with 120 grit. Got it feeling very smooth. Then I sprayed primer down. Will re-spray blue when I get home from class.

Primed the caps

Re-sprayed blue.

1 cap came out perfect, the other came out about 95%. Got a little smudge on the primer when a leaf fell on it. Tried to pull it off and touched the primer. Joys of painting outside.. Lol
