Big 3 and H/O alt upgrade

Recommended Posts

OK so I'm going to be doing the big 3 and adding a H/O alt tomorrow and was wanting to know how most of you connect the wire to like a stock alt that has the factory plastic piece still on it like so because my H/O alt has a stock connecter type on it here it is 100_0289.jpgand here is the lug on my wire on top of the piece 100_0290.jpgwhat I'm wanting to know is if it would be OK to trim the side's down and back to make the lug fit or should i get different lug's for the wire

OK so i went ahead and trimmed one of the sides back to make it work after i get it on I'm going to tape around the lug to make sure it don't touch any thing i don't want it to but would it be safer to try and find some lug's that will fit the stock piece ( i can take the one off of my stock alt if need be ) or should this be fine 100_0300.jpg

thanks for the video but the plastic piece they remove is just a cap mine is actually connected to the alt and then the wires sit on top of it mine is the base that the stud run's through not the cap that's why i was asking the question
