Coustic600se on 2 12's 2ohms....Keeps over heating when i touch the gains

Hello SMD i come to you again in the form of a post.I wish you all satisfaction in your builds and daily life.with the formality out of the way,I'm again asking for help from you brilliant minded SMD peoples.I have a Coustic 600se,I'm running a line converter on a stock dodge caravan for the RCA's,Also 2 Pioneer TS-W301R 12's.If i touch the sensitivity nob or the bass boost nob my amp will get hot enough to cook a steak on.Also my capacitor drops to 12.5 volts,when I'm bumping my hardest bass cd(cold or hot).And after an hour I'll have somthing on that hits hard and my amp will start to cut off when the bass builds up to hit then it comes back on. currently i have the bass knob turned all the way up and i can bump with no problems for an hour but then it gets hot.If i touch the sensitivity it will over heat in 5 min.I have sanded down the plate where im grounding everything so i dont think its a ground problem,does anyone have an idea.Also does anyone know why i cant get 14.4 volts and why it drops from 13.5 to 12.5 when im bumping I have a battery,alt and a capacitor,I fiigured that would be good enough.could i get some suggestions.

you get 13.5v just because thats what your alt charges at. only way to fix that is to get a new alt or maybe have yours modified at a shop. i think you can do that.

turn the bass boost all the way down and never touch it again. just do it.

now read up on how to set your gains with a DMM and get it set correctly.

after those steps, if you dont like how loud/quiet it is, its purely equipment. the reason your having problems is because your trying to push equipment to do what it isnt supposed to do.

So i need a new alt,not battery's and I need new speakers with a higher Rms? the amp should be good,its 600rms I read a couple posts and people were saying its under rated and it probably push's 800rms.Thanks for the response

That cap is probably hurting more than anything on your electrical. I would remove it. Also what plate did you ground it too? Pictures would help in this case.

a better battery will also help keep that voltage up.

a speaker's power handling will not have anything to do with the amp getting hot.

DAMN! FOund the issue! That panel is probably spot welded there and the panel is tiny!

ya... thats not a good ground at all. looks like a bracket made to hold your car's jack or something.

to the chassis if you can. that or directly to the front battery.

lol thank. you want it? its sitting in the shed waiting for the chain saw rite now. working on a rebuild at the moment.
