RXdriver11
How much SHOULD a paint job cost.. $1000. How much DOES a paint job cost.. anywhere from $1000 up to $10,000. If you just want a cheap job go to 1 day. If you want some quality find a car club in your area and see if they have a shop they use and see if they can get you a good deal. But know that a good job is gonna be some $$$$. Rebuild Log with the SMD CURRENT.. BCarter
I've used Macco for drift cars that didn't need a long lasting paint job. When I do a car it's basically $1500 for same color or $3000 plus to change colors. That's doing it where everything but the engine bay is redone. Eye Kandy Kustomz 2414 E. Jaloosk
See if there's a local high school that runs a body shop class. They will typically do it pretty cheaply, to industry standards, and you don't have to pay for labor. My son's high school is painting my car for $1,100 because it needs to go right down to the metal due to delamination issues. I was quoted $2,500 - $3,500 for the same job by other body shops. Oh...by the way; don't expect a Maaco job to last more than a few years. You get what you pay for. "Cheap, good or fast. You can only pick two out of three." "Have money? Love story! No money? Jaloosk
It's all in the prep work. (or lack, thereof) If it wasn't prepped properly, then 10 gallons of clear isn't going to make it better. You can try and put lipstick on a pig, but in the end, it's still a pig. That's why Maaco's paint jobs are so cheap; they skimp on the labor (i.e. prep). "Cheap, good or fast. You can only pick two out of three." "Have money? Love story! No money? I'm sorry."
