I want to make a box for an sa-8 around .7 cubes with a 3 inch aero tuned to 35 hz. Has anyone had any luck with a hex shaped box? Any advice for a better port or design? It's going in the back of a jeep wrangler

Well is rather impractical to build something like that, and I can't think of any particular advantages as far as sound goes, maybe if you like the looks.

thats what i thought too but the design will fit perfect in the back of a jeep wrangler (only 14 inches of depth)

check out some concrete former tube, they sell it home depot, its just really dense cardboard so you would have to do something special to mount the sube, but its really cheap and would save you alot of cutting.
