Second Skin Rep Jon Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 Heat Wave can be placed something like 2" away from the heat source (I'll double check to make sure), but we do make a product specifically for under the hood. It's called Thermal Block. Personally I like to keep my Heat Wave installed on the interior of the vehicle and use the Thermal Block on the exterior because of it's higher heat rating.
