If you make your own, do your best to "flare" the ends to avoid port noise. By the time you buy some pvc piping, a metal bowl, and a blowtorch to construct your own, you may as well just drop the $30.00 to have one shipped to you that pieces together and is already flared. And you can determine the length necessary for tuning right off of the Torre's calc that you've been using. Just looking at the box built for your Alpine, and the orientation of your RE enclosure, you should notice considerable performance gains by increasing your port area, and trying to face everything to the rear so it can load off of your hatch. neuspeedescort Posted March 1, 2012 Report Posted March 1, 2012 if you make your own pvc port you can always make an MDF ring and round over the edges to help with port noise. mind you its not as good as a flare but it will most certianly be nicer then a harsh edge. NEUMAN
