AB18VFL
"messing with the ohms" is one of the most important parts of car audio. why would you want 4 ohms? with that amp, youre aiming at 2 ohms... CoritaAlterado
Couldn't the subs get ruined if its too low? Or vice versa?

AB18VFL
Couldn't the subs get ruined if its too low? Or vice versa? the subs wouldnt, but you could blow fuses and/or fry the amp. CoritaAlterado
Any tips on how I could get my subs to stop jumping freqencies? Edited March 9, 2012 by CoritaAlterado
Baydestrian
The subs aren't "jumping frequency", that note is just way to low for your subs and you are clipping the shit out of them on top of that with the whole "80% gain". Gain matches your deck voltage. Since I know you don't have any way of using a tool to set it so you will be doing it the last resort way, BY EAR (unless you do the mentioned below about calling a shop): 1. Go here and download the 45hz Sine Wave http://www.realmofex...m/downloads.htm & burn to a CD 2. Turn all settings on deck to 0, turn bass boost and gain on amp all the way down 3. Turn deck volume up to 75% of the max volume, if 35 then put it at 27 or 28. Put CD in and track on repeat. 4. Go to your amp and turn the gain up slowly until you start to hear distortion, when you do back it off just a tad. DON'T TOUCH THE BASS BOOST ON AMP! You are using 2 completely brand subs which is the 1st fail, using a 10 and 12 will be an even bigger fail, don't even think about it. Honestly, you want your music to sound better get 2 of the same subs, quality subs. Kicker CVRs are cheap entry level and will get the job done. Build a ported box that is tuned between 30-35hz. On top of that look into getting a DD-1 from Steve or call around to shops in the area and ask them if they have an O-Scope and how much it would cost to set your amp. I read some comments on that epicenter you are running on Amazon, not the best place for reviews of car audio lol, but the whole "it made bass when there was none" is kinda confusing to me. CoritaAlterado
Thanks for the tips bro, I'm going to do that tomorrow. And about the epicenter, I don't use it with english music cause it already has bass. But with spanish music what it does is it adds bass where there are low frequecies, since the kind of spanish music I listen to has live instruments it doesn't bump like the beat made bass on english. For example a tuba, it isn't loud enough for the subs to pick up so what the epicenter does it boost it up and add a lower freqency to it. I'll add a video soon to show what I mean.
