Cashdollar2009
Agreed, need more info. Do you already have the 2 XL 15s? I currently have 1 15" and 1 5.0k on their way. I havo no equipment problem. Just space problem. I'm worried of getting down to 12's mostly because of the low notes. Any thoughts ? Looks like your question is getting answered, here's something to crush that myth. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50WaWardmJw 1 Quote 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier Two 12" DC Audio XL M2'sCrescendo Audio BC5500d Current Scores: 150+ out the Trunk On 6/30/2011 at 1:11 AM, 'Ray' said: Acoustical energy is free. CJ18
I am in no way saying it should be done only that it can be done. There are a lot of problems having a box that small. I have 7 batteries and 2 d9's powering them. The lowest I can play reasonably is mid 30's since my box is tuned to 46 hz. You do know that there is a very simple solution to your problem that would probably yield a bigger number. Recone your XLs down to 12s. You will then have the proper airspace for them and will probably be louder than you are with the 2 15s in such a small space.
Jdubs04ss
I'm kinda in the same boat. I have a 2004 Impala SS and the biggest box I can make that will fit thru the trunk opening is 6.5ft^3 net before slot L vent and I think something like each sub would roughly have 3cubic feet each tuned to 32hz with 14.5sq in of port per ft.Also It would also be for 2 15" DC XL m2's as well with each of them being ran off a M3a per sub so 2 XL ma's and 2 M3a's Would that be cool for me? medley123
you can always try aero ports, don't really know the difference between slot and aero as far as sound quality/spl, but i do know it's far less displacement, yielding more box space. And my friend has a fi bl 12 in 2.5 cubes with an aero it sounds and hits really hard.
