Neal82
so, I had this box idea all done had it the way I wanted it and then made a ROOKIE mistake.... forgot to incorperate the Sub Displacement in the whole Equation...................................................... So heres what im working with, If someone wants to send me some measurements or a pic/measurements of what im needing that'd be great! Heres My Maxes 34" W 18.5" H 20" D 2x 15" American Bass DX15s Sub Displacement 6.824 Each Want it Tuned to ~35Hz Im building this box a certain way for a certain reason (it will be used in a boat and xcab truck) The 2 subs on the 34" x 18.5" face and the port is going to come out the side the 18.5" x 20" part (this is so I can lay the box on its back in the boat have the subs facing skyward and the port firing into the boat) Quote Truck Polk 4x6 Plates Polk 4x6 Polk PA660 4Channel amp JVC USB Deck Wifes Car (under construction) Polk MoMo 6.5" Components Polk 6x9s Polk Pa660 4Channel amp Still trying to talk her into a sub or 2 Boat (under construction) Polk 5.25" Components Polk 6.5" Components 2x American Bass DX15s Polk PA660 4Channel 2x Polk PA880 Sub Amps (hopefully)
Omega5002
You can pay RAM Designs like $20ish dollars to design you a box, and have it designed properly. Make sure you find it ft^3 if you're using torres 6.824 each is not right Edited March 15, 2012 by Loslam Quote 1997 Chevrolet Silverado Extended Cab, 350 Vortec Things to come at some point... Neal82
yea its 6.826³ inches i do believe... x2 divide by 12 divide by 12 comes to .0947³ft for the 2 Quote Truck Polk 4x6 Plates Polk 4x6 Polk PA660 4Channel amp JVC USB Deck Wifes Car (under construction) Polk MoMo 6.5" Components Polk 6x9s Polk Pa660 4Channel amp Still trying to talk her into a sub or 2 Boat (under construction) Polk 5.25" Components Polk 6.5" Components 2x American Bass DX15s Polk PA660 4Channel 2x Polk PA880 Sub Amps (hopefully)
Neal82
Heres another question... whats an adaquet port width for 2x 15s running around 1000rms total I have it figured at 4 1/2" Quote Truck Polk 4x6 Plates Polk 4x6 Polk PA660 4Channel amp JVC USB Deck Wifes Car (under construction) Polk MoMo 6.5" Components Polk 6x9s Polk Pa660 4Channel amp Still trying to talk her into a sub or 2 Boat (under construction) Polk 5.25" Components Polk 6.5" Components 2x American Bass DX15s Polk PA660 4Channel 2x Polk PA880 Sub Amps (hopefully)
Loslam
yea its 6.826³ inches i do believe... x2 divide by 12 divide by 12 comes to .0947³ft for the 2 You actually divide in^3 by (12x12x12) to get ft^3. Then multiply by two for subs. Which gives .0079 ft^3 displacement for both subs. Still seems off, I'd check your info again brother, good luck Quote 1997 Chevrolet Silverado Extended Cab, 350 Vortec Things to come at some point... L means liters, a metric unit of volume. Convert that to cubic ft = .241 each - so total displacement of 2 subs is .482 ft^3 Quote 1997 Chevrolet Silverado Extended Cab, 350 Vortec Things to come at some point... Loslam
Here's a rough design of your max dimensions. If you haven't bought the subs yet, I'd only get 1 with the volume you have.
