jrot
i have an 89 toyota supra turbo that i previously had a soundstrem 405s 5ch running on a kenwood excelon x994(i think) and pushing a set of polk db501s and a set of db651s and a sundown sa-8. for some reason or another i broke the sub then shortly behind it the amp went too. i started to wonder if i didnt have an electrical issue and so everything gets pulled out and we begin "round 2" i will be thinking harder and planning better along with making sure the car can handle the "2" amp set up ill be running this time. starting with my big
jrot
now on to my install of my new amplifier. i decided to go with a rockford fosgate t4004(grey box) still with the kenwood deck and polk db coax speakers, no sub or sub amp just yet. after a ton of tinkering and failed experiments i was left with this wiring mess this of course this is unacceptable. so i ordered upgraded wires and off i went ran my new speaker wires and pulled out all the mess and got this power ground on the driver side rca's and remote wire on the passenger side, trying to follow factory wiring as best as possible after getting wires set where i want i was able to get some panels back in then the seats now on to my rear speaker pods... fresh paint pods w/speaks... all carpaets back in and amp in place... thats where im at now, while i concentrate on moving and deciding on what sub amp combo ill use and what alt to go with and weather or not to run a missing link or not.... pstone11
Man, you are getting much much better at this! This version is looking very nice. I still think a super angry 10 would be wonderful... or a mildly disturbed 15. 12's are still out of the question for life? jrot
@pstone, thank you, im hoping this will be the last install in this car so im trying to make sure its perfect @cortez, that box sounds interesting, i may hit you up on that, as far as sub stage im not 100% sure what my substage will be just yet, been kickin around a few ideas with a good friend and am leaning toward a dc xl 10", or maybe a pair of lvl 3 10"s, hell i even like the aq subs too so who knows, the amp im really unsure of right now but it will be between 1500-2200w or somewhere there abouts. im getting the electricals all fixed up before i get the substage decided on and put in. i think it will be easier to decide what i want and need depending on where my final voltage ends up ect ect. i dont wanna out power my car and tear up a bunch of nice gear, as stated abocve im hoping this will be the last install in this car. as far as engines ill be keeping the staight six and will probly end up at a final rear wheel HP around 350-400 if im lucky. but this car is my daily and does 80mi a day and has been for years so again i dont want to out power the car. plus im old now and drive like a grandma everywhere i go anyway haha.
