scottam
all i can say is dont spend a lot of money on those 3512s and sufficate them. they like to move air. ive had experience with 2512s and tried a couple different boxes with them. i wouldnt go under 2.5 possibly a little more. but it also depends on power you are running to them and vechicle they are in. there isn't really a straight answer. it varies between vechicles as everyone knows. DD's reccommendations (2.5 net, 40 inches of port, 16 in^2 per cube) are what they recommend and will yield you good results, but you could find you get better results deviating from those specifications. use those as a starting point. just gotta try out different designs. or contact Pete @ PWK. He has had some experience with DD. haha. anyway goodluck, DD subs defintely know how to pound thanks alot man the input very much appreciated iv been turned onto DC by 412 cvx so im looking into the lvl 4s and the 3512s very deeply only thing that will keep me with the DD right now is that they have a rep literally 5 min from my house and there is no DC rep in my state so these are the only issues im seeing right now but thank you alot don't let a rep turn you off of 1 company or another. DC and DD both have great customer service over the phone (at least form my experiences) and yuo can easily order from if you don't have a dealer in your area. But since I run DD you know my vote. But you'll love the DC as well. In th end what do you want your sub to look like? cause both will bang. haha thats a very good point do i want 2 D's or a d and a c lmao but thanks man its a waiting game now plus gotta scrape together my final budget
afrakes
I gotta say go with the DD. Although I only have their entry level 500 series 12 (ran out of funds lol), I have heard and had experience with the 2500 series as well as the 9500 series. They are just built so well and are so damn strong to whatever you throw at them, even the entry level 500 is made of steel compared to my old systems and what my buddies have (for a lot less money than they spent too). Although I have to agree, if u dont have a minimum of 2.5 cubes per driver, I would steer clear. My 512 is in a 2.5 cube box @ 33 hz and it knocks for a $100 sub. But I sure as hell wouldnt put even this sub in a smaller box. 3-3.5 cubes per driver with those 3500 series would be prefferable IMO. Becuase they do like to move A LOT OF AIR! Becuase they do like to move A LOT OF AIR! no no no. not 3-3.5 cubes for a 12. i mean like a range from 2.4-2.8. maybe 3 max if you are underpowering them and with special circumstances. or powering right at 1200rms. there is such thing as too big too. but most people skimp on space not give too much. don't mean to bash you man but a 12 inch DD will not like over 3 cubes. especially if overpowered. When i say don't sufficate i mean don't give it only 1.8 or 2 cubes. around 2.5 and 40 square inches is a good benchmark. dont deviate to much form that. just a lil bit ahah Quote Buyer/Seller Feedback Thread: http://www.stevemead...5015-bump4life/ MB C220 153 Trunk Car Build Log: http://www.stevemead...d/#entry1840136 MB C280 Ipad Dash SQ Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/194484-bump4lifes-new-benz-tony-c-relay-kit-pictures-ce-electric-audison-front-stage-installed/ My SPL Log: http://www.stevemead...__fromsearch__1 BMW M340 xDrive Stock, for now. mrd6
Haha only way to stop being an install noob is to start trying things first hand! Just sayin' But seriously, you'll be happy with either the DCs or the DDs. For your application as a daily driver on that power you probably wont see much of a difference between the two. IMO go with which ever you can get for less Quote My Build Log: http://www.stevemead...-sundown-power/ Team NorthWestSPL
