cav9189 Posted March 20, 2012 Report Posted March 20, 2012 Ok guys, I have a 12" Diamond D3 subwoofer running with a RF 3001 amp. about 3 days ago it stop working. I checked all my fuses, connections, wires and the subwoofer itself and I can't figure out why it wont turn back on. I also checked the headunit and there was nothing wrong with it. The amp lights up where the RF logo is but the protect light and other light are not on. need some help.
carlosg_313 Posted March 20, 2012 Report Posted March 20, 2012 Get a dmm, and check the coils of the sub, if you don't get any reading, your sub is toast. If it is, then it can be from anything....like you amps speaker terminal is not putting out any ac volts.....if you wired them in series, you migh have a loose connection or no contact at all...or RCA is fucked......many variables that can occur. Edit- btw, take the sub out of the box and see if the wires got disconnected from the sub.....it can happen. How do the Japanese feel about bass?You know that since 03/11/11 Progene? I just saw that stuff on CNN. They said it makes your junk shrink all up. lol.im pretty sure the op wont even notice if it gets even smaller. Refs - Pstone11, porksoda, coleman
cav9189 Posted March 20, 2012 Author Report Posted March 20, 2012 Ctrl/Cmd+V ok I've taken it out of the box and looked at the wires that connect the sub to the amp and those were just fine. What exactly is the RCA? I have seen it in other posts but don't quite know what it is......
Guest Posted March 20, 2012 Report Posted March 20, 2012 just because you looked at the wires doesnt mean that the sub itself is fine. get a multimeter and test the impedance of the voice coils on the sub. RCAs are the things that come out of the headunit and go into the amp. they provide signal
