DASH Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 Hello I have Re XXX 18" about 2000 rms running through BRUTUS Hifonics at 1-ohm 2600 watt this is my electric : Mechman Alternator 200 amp 1 optima yellow top 55/ah in front 1 stock battery in the trunk Big 3 all 1/0 gauge wiring my next step is does the Voltage boost module will help me to prevent dropping voltage? anybody recommend it for me? how much Optima battery i need to stable my voltage as most i can , btw we have only optima in my country,, any suggestions?
Guest Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 a voltage booster wont really help you with losing voltage. someone correct me if im wrong, but if you drop to like 12v, adding a booster will still have your voltage drop because the alt cant output enough power. how low is your voltage dropping?
DASH Posted March 23, 2012 Author Report Posted March 23, 2012 Really!! i have drop at full tilt to 12.8 almost after installing the new alternator , do i need more battery to reserve some capacity ? some times my voltage start 14.2 but why i see people start with 15.3 for example i want to reach that level i don't want to drop my voltage to 12 anymore is that hard to achieve , i have only one 18"

In my toyota it 's at 13.6-1.38 v from stock. You should not drop so low with a Mechman alt, 2 batts and 2000 w rms. Check all your grounds. Try to charge your batteries. What VC config on your sub ? black BMW X1 2.0 l 192 hp OEM head unit, Amplifiers : Audison AP 8.9 with integrated DSP and Ampere Audio 1200. Focal ES 100 K in front doors, and Dayton RS 180 for midbass under the front seats. 2 SSA DEMONS 10" subs, in a sealed box. I will try to make that movement , what do you mean by VC config my sub is Dual 2-ohm wired to 1-ohm If you can get a mechman alt, you can get a XS battery lol. i don't know if it's allowed to ship a huge battery to Saudi Arabia that's so bad , but Optima it will get the job done i think
