ham4864
has any one done this to the 03-07 cts . The positive alt bolts seems hard to get to and out of reach. Is there a easier way then to drop the engine cradle i was told has to be done? Please help a music lover out. tyma1026
I am not sure about the CTS but I have an 01 Seville STS and the radiator needs to come out before you can get to the alternator easily. The front right tire also so that you can get to the bolts on the bottom of the alternator if you plan on removing it. I heard before that the CTS and STS were similar.. Hope it's true and this helps you in some way.
ham4864
what a PITA,i have to wait until my next day off to sit down and really look at it. I don't know y some manufactures do certain thing on cars. I did read that for the sts as i was searching. tyma1026
Right! I don't understand either. Damn Cadillacs are difficult and the Olds Aurora was as well. Well I'm a member on the Cadillac Forums and I found this link. It seems that it is basically the same as the STS. You may have to be a member to view this but here goes: http://www.cadillacf...or-removal.html Edited March 24, 2012 by tyma1026

Toby Ratcliffe
I just did the big 3 in my jetta yesterday. Every post i have ever seen said I needed to drop the front clip, and put the radiator in the service position. I took off both underbody moldings, and was able to get to the bolt that holds the positive cable just fine. tightening the new cable was a chore, but I broke out my air ratchet and snugged it up tight.
