csill420 Posted March 25, 2012 Report Posted March 25, 2012 my equipment is listed in my signature so u guys can see what i have. well recently i was driving and looked down at my voltage and saw it was at 13.3 which is really weird cuz wen im driving with out my sterio on it chills just over 14 usualy 14.5. so i took the rpms to 2000 just to see if it was the amp output at idle of my alt. and nothing changed. so i was driving and occasionally when i start slowing down the volts go to 13.8. why is this happening? is it a bad regulator? please help! oh and btw this happened just after my batts had been on a trickle charge for a lil while. Fuck warning points.

jrchevy87 Posted March 25, 2012 Report Posted March 25, 2012 your alternator might be going out or it could be your regulator you'll have to get them tested. Could be a loose ground but i dont think thats likely, deff sounds like alt or regulator Jeep Wrangler TJ Hardtop Build

jrchevy87 Posted March 25, 2012 Report Posted March 25, 2012 autozone cant test that amps of your alt but they can test the regulator, ull have to do a carbon pile load test to check the amp unless anyone knows of a more user friendly method Jeep Wrangler TJ Hardtop Build
