over powered or under sized?

ok so i have a 1976 chevy luv that well is limited on space...

i would like to run a pair of 12" woofers

what room i do have looks like this

maximum room i have for the exterior of the box is roughly 41" x 17" x 7" d1 x 2" d2 with a tranny tunnel in the middle that measures 7" wide at the bottom and 5" tall at the highest

(my cad design yes) the tranny tunnel was calculated at a loss of volume with a square cut out and would be built with such the cad drawings are for asthetic purpose)

i am planning to run a set of Pioneer TS-SW3001S4 that require a minimum of 0.5 cubic feet of air space...

subwoofer displacement is 0.099 cubic feet

calculations are with 3/4" mdf

my interior box volume would be roughly 1.2 - 0.1418 loss of volume for the tranny tunnel =1.0582 cubic inch total volume and the sub displaces roughly 0.099 cubic inch which puts me (0.9592ci) under the minimum required to run the pair efficently

so going down to 5/8" or 1/2" mdf really isnt an option with the pair pushing almost 1000rms combind @ 2ohm (if i was running a lower powered 150-200rms per sub possibly)

so then what are my options for running this pair of subwoofers in this truck....

would i be able to wire the subwoofers out of phase and have one pushing and 1 pulling (like a powered radiator setup) or wire them both up in phase and just increase the wrms i am powering them with??? i mean i wouldnt power them with 1800wrms but certainly 1300-1500 wouldnt be that far of a stretch???

i am currently currently running a single 10" pioneer svc 4ohm on kenwood excelon amp pushing almost 400wrms

so i know these subs at least a single 10" can take being over powered by a good margin (its rated at 250rms)

if i were you idd run the 10 in that box

ive herd shallow 12 in 0.5 and there were crap they need at least 0.8-1

you should be able to run standard 10's in that box
