Amp popping into protect.

few things to look at, for one, check the ohm load exactly, its one of those things that actually matter in this situation.

for two, dont measure the voltage on the dash, its rather in accurate and does not measure the amps voltage, which is actually lower than the voltage at the front of the vehicle.

third, make sure the amp can breathe, if its closed off from circulating air its going to have a hard time cooling off.

They don't really check them.

it might be because more current changes the ohm load.

It's probably cause the amp is seeing like 10 volts with the car off. I'm not sure on technically why that matters, but 10 volts is never good
