HU increasing spl?

ok so my hu is going to shit, it just does random ass things and doesnt play cd's now i wanna get a new hu and was thinking about

another kenwood or a alpine.

now for the question, will a new hu increase my spl? meaning louder by ear, im not sure how important a hu is when it comes to that

I wouldn't say increase spl..but I know some sound better than others..I love alpine..allthough kenwood is decent too.its all in your preference like ford chevy dodge etc

Higher signal to the amp, better output. I noticed the difference when i switched. the first time. havent gone back to less then 4 volts since.

4 volt headunits sound cleaner. I will never go back to a 2volt headunit.

Regarding the SPL, I recently went from a Pioneer DEH-8300ub to the Alpine CDA-117, and I noticed a substantial amount of decreased SPL between the two. I've played with it for hours and I still can't get it to the same level as my Pioneer. (Disappointing but it looks much nicer and sounds a bit better). So the headunit will play a factor in it.

negative your tunning it wrong

i and many others only use alpines for comp if pioneers where louder that would be the h/u of choice

I was in a competion with a kid and we were really close I beat him by like .2 higher then he went out and baught a thing for the rcas at the sterio went from 4 volts to like 6 or 7 and he beat my score. Idk what it was but that's what they told me lol

if you need more than 4 volts on your preout your lacking in other areas and can damage some amps with that high voltage... still in some case will help do tha..t again means your lacking voltage (not rca voltage) or tunning
