Trey_Dog650
i would do a bandpass box. if designed and built correctly they can be louder than a ported, and you can have your subs firing a different direction and have your port through the arm rest. 4th or 6th orders is what you can look into, 4th being a little easier to design. but the 6th reaps more benefits i think Quote 13 Kia Forte Build! 07 Hyundai Accent Build ***Super Seller*** N8ball2013 And then he gets to say ok all you guys were right. im sorry for being a dummy poo poo head. Cashdollar2009
Ninja's while typing slow. I vote 10"s or a 12" in a 4th order and run the vent into the armrest location. Or possibly a ported box, but still with the port through the armrest. People have been lucky with high sound pressure with zero spoiler issues, other have cracked plastic spoilers doing high 130's and low 140's. It really depends on resonance and the integrity of your vehicle. Quote On 6/30/2011 at 1:11 AM, 'Ray' said: Acoustical energy is free. Electrical energy is not. One Way
Dude best thing to do so the spoiler won't vibrate as much is to do a bandpass thru the armrest! please elaborate. i thought bandpasses were mainly for peaky spl applications? No u can make them whatever ur preferences are. It's possible to make a 4th order with a pretty flat response, it just depends on how experienced u are with bandpasses. All about ratios. Cashdollar2009
There are a few members on here that could help you with a 4th order design. For a small fee (Ray charges $25iirc) the results you'd get from an experienced designer would be well worth the little extra cash. But if you want a 142-145 with an armrest hole and don't want too much trunk flex, a 4th order would be your best best in my opinion.
