Mla module for GM pcm alt?

So I just ordered one for my truck. I have a mechman 270 pcm and a few xs batterys and have little voltage drop, like .5 voltage drop(from 14.7wich is what my alt first starts at)but the fact that after a few min the pcm knocks my voltage down to 13. Kills my low voltage drop. Im looking at 12.5 so I desided to get a mla. My question is the mla can charge higher then 15volts (like 15.3 im told)wich xs doesnt recomend. But with the drop ill be still sitting at the higher 14+ right? Can I try to run the modle in my truck so I can flip it from the inside when im listening to music only? Any one try this? Will it work?
