Ouch! That hurts the eyes and the wallet. How long dose it take on the reconeing thing?

actually not long. I have a buddy who just did 4 recones to his subs from the same guy, and he says about 1 after the prep stage. The prep stage included hacking my beautiful sub up with a flathead screwdriver and a razor while watching top gear -_- eventually I said screw it and bought a course wiredisk attachment and used it on my cordless drill to get all the nasty goop off from the surround and the damn tough epoxy from the spiders

my recone cost 150 and it's better than stock lvl 4 :)

nice link ;)

I haven't been up to much lately. I made a special purchase recently that has made my wallet have some really bad butthurt

I did the recone, I think it turned out very nicely

this is one beefy bastard

I cleaned up my lights with toothpaste and it made a BIG difference

Then back to the recone!!! there was white paint on the gluing surface so the dust cap popped off and failed at the paint. to fix it I sanded the gluing surface and used some shoe goop to put it on again. It's looking super sexy now

This is where I am at now, I still need to seal off the trunk but I'll just wait until I am un-butthurt and I have more money to throw around

No the recone aint all that nice. It's there with you not me lol. How did you paint the dust cap I thought that would mess the balance up on speakers? The butt hurt is with sandpaper lol with joys after the pain is gone. That's funny the toothpaste trick lasts longer than the $40 lens kits. Does this plastic dip fad last very long? Almost looks good the sub is crooked or is the operator  . Keep it up the good work. When will you get your alt in? Let me know how well it fits or what mods has to be done.

I really like the recone, he did a great job on it! I just got typical aerosol paint at the local hardware store and painted it before I glued the dustcap on. then the paint got messed up after it was put on so I had to paint again. I just oulined the painting area with painters tape and the rest with newspaper, then I went at it again.

toothpaste is a cheap fix, but I don't think it'll last very long. I prefer doing it once a month as opposed to buying a $40 kit for an old car.

idk about the plastidip. I'll keep it on over the winter because it'll protect the alloy wheels a little, and it's currently keeping the paint on the stupid spoiler. If it was my choice I would get a spoiler delete kit and remove the stupid thing

hahahahahaha I did standard holes at first (12:00, 1:30, 3:00... etc) but I messed up so I just rotated it 22.25 degrees just to bug those OCD people <_<

they are pretty good with their customer service. I hope to get it before the 19th (erie comp) but he said anywhere between 2-3 weeks and maybe earlier depending on when parts come in. He's located in Ohio so if I pick it up it should be NBD. Hooking up the alt needs no special bracket. It's a plug n' play alt :)

One day I will get a sub worth reconeing too see what it's like in person. The last lens kit lasted for two months the tooth paste has been three months. And just now ready to do it again big expense diff for sure. Just wondering about the plastic dip thing everyone's doing it around here. The spoiler thing is funny I was wanting to put the aluminum one on her car. Whose OCD just because the screws have to be at the same angle and even spaced don't mean anything . Cool good luck with the alt and comp.

You'll find this funny, when I took the stupid spoiler off it was heavy. there was water or some liquid in it. I went to dump it out but found no holes in it to dump it out. So I saw now saw to get the water in and no way to get the water out :search: I just wanted to try out the plastidip because you can remove it if you don't like it. My buddy was going to do racing stripes on his 99' mazda miata.... but before you say anything, it's turboed and is getting it dyno'd soon from a pro miata guy. He claims that it will have 450hp when it's all said and done at the most

Spoilers can be cool but I don't like anything flashy or stupid like the one on my car hahaha
