95legwagon Posted April 29, 2012 Report Posted April 29, 2012 ok so i traded my p.a. mofo 122x in for a rf p2 15. its a svc 4 ohm. i would like to build a loud and low hitting ported box for it. space really isnt an issue as i have a wagon with plenty of space. cant find the specs as it isnt the newest model. i have it in a sealed box right now and it gets loud for a single 15 and way cleaner sounding than my previous sub. im looking for right around 2.50-3 cubic feet after displacement and want it to hit the lows. im running it with a xplod 1000w bridged at 4 ohms. probably about right for power wise to this sub but if im wrong and it can take more safely lemme know. im thinkn tuned to around 34-36 hz. anybody have any recomendations for a box size/tuning and the such? whether to go slot port or aero? any help is greatly appreciated. i have tried using the box calculator before and i just dont get it..... never was a numbers guy. but i can build stuff and make it look decent. thanks guys!!! i think there real i was looking through that guys stuff he sells and it looks like he finds stuff at auctions and just sells it Yea, it looks like someone got the mids about a month ago....shit. If I had a whole Hertz front stage my ears would jizz all over my cheeks. / LOL My Low Budget Build: Green 1995 Subaru Legacy wagon 147k- $1K headunit- pioneer premier deh-p650-$25 4 Lead acid batts. 1 up front and 3 in back- vented outside.- $50 4 vvme L11 10"s <- $30 shipped a piece 6 cu. ft box (after displacment) tuned to 32ish hz with 10 inch sonotube. -about $50 all together maybe a lil more 2 aspm 1300 strapped Selenium 6"s in the front doors on headunit power- for now -$20 quantum tweets in door-for now -$10 boston acoustic 5 1/4 in rear doors- for now-Free big 3 1/0 and 4awg throughout. roof sound deadened (not peel n seal ftw)-free on 80 amp alt (bench tested to put out 100 amps faithfully) <--?-$10 for test about $430 for everything<----Not bad at all still gotta add 3 way crossover, amp for front and rear door speakers and maybe eq

412 CVX Posted April 29, 2012 Report Posted April 29, 2012 no. sealed boxes cannot be turned to ported boxes unless they have the proper ported box volume. it doesn't work that way. send me a PM for a design. i'd be glad to help out. My temp system build log More box buildssome cars do over 170db with one sub, so clearly my two 12"s can do that in my car, with my knowledge too! look out bitches! I'm with captain stupid.
