Omega5002
Hey everyone, I know I've been here a while, reading topics, and joking around the random, and such, but since I've got some things done, I thought I might as well make a build log.1st, here's my carNow, my equipmentMy tiny little amp, the MB Quart FX1.600And my Kicker CVR12 that I got from a pawn shop for $60, it's alright. The JVC is something random, not gonna use itAnd this used to be my former setup before coolant destroyed the box. It sounded terrible anywaysNow time for the good stuff:1st off, here's a design I got from RAMDesigns, 2.3cu ft tuned to 33hz before displacementSome suppliesSome red suede for box wrapping I got for freeEverything all cut after the help of some friends, and a very kind carpenter, he even let me borrow his titebond premium 2003 Kia Sorento Team Subsonic LowsTeam Bassin' on a Budget2016 Rebuild Under Construction Best score: 150.2 at 40hz (3k, 2 Custom HDC3 15's) Usaci style(door open, in the kick)
Omega5002
Building process table was useless No clamps, no problem applying bracing all glue in, time for sanding all sanded up Sub fits in nicely Took me all of Saturday to build this, which is my 1st box. Gonna apply wrapping and install bolt terminals Monday since I was busy Sunday, and I wanted to wait for the titebond to dry completely 2003 Kia Sorento Team Subsonic LowsTeam Bassin' on a Budget2016 Rebuild Under Construction Best score: 150.2 at 40hz (3k, 2 Custom HDC3 15's) Usaci style(door open, in the kick)
Omega5002
Got done with wrapping, and installing the box. Here's some pics Preparing to measure suede cut outs All the pieces cut out Got it all wrapped up Made a bolt terminal, didn't have a cripper, so had to make use of the hammer. Everything all done I'm gonna take the picture of it in my car tomorrow since it's dark right now, and I'm also gonna post a video of it in action, though I do have to say, it sounds louder, deeper, and better than my junk prefab I used to use 2003 Kia Sorento Team Subsonic LowsTeam Bassin' on a Budget2016 Rebuild Under Construction Best score: 150.2 at 40hz (3k, 2 Custom HDC3 15's) Usaci style(door open, in the kick)
Omega5002
Did a few more things, like make a resting place for my amp since I was sick of having it lay around in the trunk, and finally got pictures of the install, and organized the wires a bit. Been saving up for a new headunit, till then, I'm stuck using my stock radio. Next plan is to get new headunit, new mids and highs, and some sound deadening Video has yet to be made, need to find some time, and a good place to do it. 2003 Kia Sorento Team Subsonic LowsTeam Bassin' on a Budget2016 Rebuild Under Construction Best score: 150.2 at 40hz (3k, 2 Custom HDC3 15's) Usaci style(door open, in the kick)
Omega5002
Got my new headunit install, got it as a gift from a friend's dad. Has some cool features for being an older model, comes with gps, cd/dvd player, backup camera option, and it plays my ipod, which I usually use for it anyways. 2003 Kia Sorento Team Subsonic LowsTeam Bassin' on a Budget2016 Rebuild Under Construction Best score: 150.2 at 40hz (3k, 2 Custom HDC3 15's) Usaci style(door open, in the kick)

Crandis16
lookin good man, it's very similar to my first build too. what did you wire the subs too? how much power did you feed the sub. It seems to be pretty loud for a single 12 My Red zx2 Build Log My Black zx2 Build Log My Red zx2 UBL
Omega5002
Yay a 1st comment Since my sub is a D4, I have wired it to 2 ohms, and my amp does 600 rms at 2 ohms, so I'm feeding my sub 600 watts. For a cheap sub, I'm impressed for what it can do in the right box. After I built it, I've never expected to have a little windshield flex, and still sound good at whatever it plays. 2003 Kia Sorento Team Subsonic LowsTeam Bassin' on a Budget2016 Rebuild Under Construction Best score: 150.2 at 40hz (3k, 2 Custom HDC3 15's) Usaci style(door open, in the kick)

I had a single Skar VVX-12 D4 in a box tuned to 35 Hz and it managed to do 134.9 in a competition. I was very surprised with that. I was only running a kicker amp at a little over 500wrms @ 2ohmstry putting your box closer to the back of the trunk, the closer it is, the louder it should be.
